Kehaulani's Cafe, attached to a Motel 6 in Vallejo, serves a mix of Hawaiian and Filipino food. The vibe is relaxed, walls are styled with Hawaiian memorabilia and the booth seating is comfortable. Purple, ube-tinted waffles are crowned with craggy fried chicken while the phenomenal loco moco ($17) reaches for short rib instead of a hamburger patty. The latter is served with two fat scoops of rice, draped in eggs seasoned with furikake. The service at this underrated Vallejo gem is so friendly you'll want to return.
